During a go over the Littrow area, Worden reported seeing "small, almost irregular formed cones", which he stated looked like cinder cones. This observation would turn out to be one of the primary causes for 78 win going there on Apollo 17. It might turn out that one of these 'cinder cones' was just an influence crater, when visited by Gene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt on Apollo 17 and that what in actual fact he was seeing have been younger craters with dark ejecta blankets.
